Persian cat is a chubby faced, long haired cat, having double layer of fur coat which keep it well protected from environmental extremes but it doesn’t mean that they don’t need additional care during winters. Whereas small kittens don’t have massive fur and are more prone to cold temperatures.

HOW MUCH TEMPERATURE IS SAFE?

Normally cats body temperature range between 100.5 F to 105 F and the room temperature should not fall below 70 F.

Indoor cats like Persian cats are not acclimated to cold and should not be left outside where the daily average temperature is lower than 45 F and are kept in warmer shelters.

MAJOR RISKS FOR CATS IN COLD WEATHER

The adult cats might not face serious problems during weather extremes but kittens might suffer badly if not kept care of them properly. Few complications they could face are HYPOTHERMIA , FROSTBITE, ANTI-FREEZE POISNONING & DEATH too.

HOW TO KEEP CAT WARM?

By following few simple steps and methods you can keep your pet warm and protected during winters. The foremost thing to do is have an insulated, warm, cozy shelter for your pet. Feed them proper heavy, fatty meals rich in calories & nutrition. Ensure regular exercising your pet to keep her body warm & muscles active. Invest in cat products like window perch, heated pads & insulated food bowls. If you observe any other unusual behavior or pattern contact your vets because healthiest cats are the happiest one too!
